Three teenagers from the Seattle area, participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, advanced to the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals began Wednesday at 5 a.m. on PDT. As of 7 a.m. Wednesday, the third round was over and all three teens from the Seattle area got into fourth round.
Three local contestants are 14-year-old Siriana Kaur (№ 232), an eighth-grader at Redmond High School, and 13-year-old twins Saharsh Kesu Vupala (№ 206) and Sai Vupala (№ 221). ), eighth-graders at Annie Wright High School and Siberia High School, respectively, in Tacoma.
