A 38-year-old man crashed into a house in New York City after fleeing from police, authorities said.
On Thursday, March 3, on Staten Island, Michael Robles was stopped because of a broken stop light when police saw in his SUV “a clear glass tube with nozzles,” the New York Police Department said.
When officers told Robles to get out of the car, he ignored their request and drove his 2007 Jeep Patriot, police said.
He then crashed into the house, causing “significant damage”, police said.
Police said in a press release that “there were no victims” but officials – told local publications WABC and CBS New York that six people received minor injuries. McClatchy News contacted police to explain the cause of the injuries.

“I (slept) and the bed shook. There was a loud roar. The door opened. At first I thought it was an earthquake, but then I smelled smoke and heard people screaming, ”she said.
Robles was arrested, and police said they found him with a “controlled substance” and revocation of his license.
He has been charged with several counts:
- Reckless threat
- Fleeing officer by car
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance
- Two articles aggravating unlicensed operators
- Violation of equipment
- Driving an unregistered vehicle
- Violation of vehicle license: no license
