Bar owner killed in robbery, wanted suspect: Louisiana police

Authorities are asking the public to help find the killer after police reported that the owner of the bar was shot dead during a robbery in Louisiana.

Deputies found the body of Marl Wayne Smith, owner of the Pub Lounge in Bagalas, on the evening of March 3 after responding to businessaccording to a post on Facebook by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Smith was found dead with gunshot wounds on the floor of his pub, WVUE MPs reported.

Deputies also noted that the ATM in the pub was damaged and the money inside was stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Randy Seal is asking the public to comment if they have any information about the incident.

In the photo provided by the police, the suspect is wearing a black hat with a logo, a green shirt, blue jeans and a plaid black and white jacket.

“Please look closely at this photo and help us identify this cold-blooded killer so we can put him in jail, where he belongs,” Sil said in a letter. “He needs to be prosecuted!”

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with details to call Detective Captain Tom Anderson at 985-661-2024. Subscribers can remain anonymous.

The sheriff’s request for help has prompted thousands of people to share photos on Facebook.

“Wayne didn’t deserve it,” wrote one person who shared the photo. “You will definitely be bored.”

Bagalasa is located approximately 75 miles north of New Orleans.
