Bath Elementary celebrates Veterans Day – Washington Daily News

Father Elementary School celebrates Veterans Day

Beaufort County Schools celebrated Veterans Day on Thursday, November 10th. Inviting retired members of the United States Armed Forces to talk about why honoring veterans’ service is important and why their contributions should be celebrated each year.

Students at Bath Elementary School performed patriotic songs, including the National Anthem, at a Veterans Day memorial service in the school’s gymnasium. Veterans Day essay winners Ceci Annis and Eliza Kelder read aloud their essays on why Veterans Day should be celebrated.

This year’s guest speaker was Darin Seaman, retired US Marine Corps Master Sergeant.

Northside High School JROTC students gave a presentation on folding the American flag and presented a wreath.

Jonathan Kirk and Joel Taylor, two Northside High School graduates, were honored for making the ultimate sacrifice in the early 2000s. The names of veterans of the Great Patriotic War from Bath were heard. These names can be found on a plaque at the front of the school campus.

The service ended with Bath Primary School pupil Liam Parisi playing ‘Taps’.
