Body of missing child found in search near waterfall: TN cops


Two children went missing before one of them was found dead, deputies said.

A child who went missing in Tennessee has been found dead near the base of a waterfall, officials said.

An investigation is now underway death of a childaccording to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called around 7pm on Friday, September 16. Two children have been reported missing in Sale Creek, a community about 30 miles northeast of Chattanooga.

“Two juveniles are believed to be (lost) near one of the trails near the bluff and waterfall,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

One of the children was found intact, the teams continued to search for the other. “A second child was found dead at the bottom of the falls” at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office said in a release that it did not share additional details because of the children’s ages.
