Boston (AP) – Boston College has hired former Miami Sports Director Blake James to replace Patrick Kraft as Eagles AD.

James worked in Miami from 2013 to 21 years, overseeing 18 university sports. During his tenure at Hurricanes, new facilities for football, baseball and golf were built, as well as facilities for men’s and women’s basketball.

James was also a member of the NCAA Board of Directors, the Board of Governors and the Football Oversight Committee, and was chairman of the NCAA Division I Board.

“Blake has extensive experience, understands the challenges facing inter-university athletics today, and is committed to the BC mission,” said Boston College President, Rev. William P. Leahy.

Kraft left BC to get a job at Penn State.
