Brewton sparks Alcorn State past Prairie View A&M in OT

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) — Dominique Bruton came off the bench to score 20 points, including six in overtime, and Alcorn State beat Prairie View A&M 77-68 on Monday night.

Bruton made 7 of 12 shots and made all six free throws for the Braves (7-10, 4-1 Southwest Athletic Conference). Dontrell McQuarter and Byron Joshua scored 14 points each. McQuarter had eight rebounds and Joshua had four assists. Jeremiah Kendall had 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Yahuza Rasas led the Panthers (7-12, 3-3) with 21 points and eight rebounds. Will Douglas had 14 points and seven boards. Hegel Augustin scored 10 points and made the second of two free throws with two seconds left to send the game into overtime tied at 63.

Alcorn State led 38-30 at halftime.
