LOS ANGELES (AP) — Cormac Roth, musician and son of actor Tim Roth, has died at age 25 after a battle with cancer, his family announced Monday.
Roth “passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving and adoring family” on Oct. 16, the family said in a statement, adding that “he kept his wicked wit and sense of humor” to the end.
“Grief comes in waves, as do tears and laughter as we think of this beautiful boy after the 25 years and 10 months we knew him,” the family said. “An irrepressible and joyful, wild and wonderful child. Only recently a person. We love him. We will take it with us wherever we go.”
A graduate of Bennington College, Roth was a guitarist, composer and producer. He revealed on his Instagram account that he was diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer in November 2021.
“It has taken half of my hearing, 60 pounds of my weight, my confidence and will continue on its murderous path until I can somehow stop and kill it,” he wrote. “But it didn’t take away my will to survive or my love for music. It hasn’t worn me out yet.”
He urged everyone to seek medical attention.
His father is the star of movies like Bed Dogs, Pulp Fiction and The Incredible Hulk.
Cormac Roth is survived by his parents Tim and Nicky Roth and brother Hunter Roth.
