DETROIT (AP) – Das Cameron hit back with a header, two launched by Homer in the eighth inning, and the rising Detroit Tigers held back to win Thursday’s Minnesota Twins, which falls 3-2.
Cameron’s 416-foot-high shot to the left center from Emilio Pegan (1-2) was scored by Eric Haase, who killed one of the Tigers.
Alex Lange (3-1) gave up two moves and scored one in a key eighth inning, while Gregory Soto closed or the 10th save.
Leading in the AL Central Minnesota, the only team in the division with a winning record, lost seven of 10 games.
Meanwhile, the Tigers, who finished fourth, have won seven of their last nine games to take a place in the standings after a failed start.
Jonathan Shupp had a lot to do with the twist, getting into the RBI single in the first inning of the series finale, resulting in seven of Detroit’s 10 runs in two games to spare.
