The Food and Drug Administration has published withdraw nano silver dietary supplement on Wednesday as part of a permanent injunction against the manufacturer over unsubstantiated claims of a cure for COVID-19.
The dietary supplement in question was sold by Natural Solutions Foundation from January 22, 2020 to December 27, 2021. Nano Silver products are very small particles of the precious metal floating in a liquid solution.
The Natural Solutions Foundation, along with trustees Rima Laibow and Ralph Fucetola, promoted the dietary supplement “Dr. Rima Recommends Nano Silver 10 ppm” as being able to treat and prevent COVID-19.
These claims prompted federal action against the product.
Neither the foundation nor the trustees have acknowledged or denied the federal government’s allegation that the supplement was falsely advertised.
Instead, they agreed to a consent decree in December 2021; one of the conditions of the permanent injunction was the recall of the goods.
“This withdraw was initiated because the product is labeled as a dietary supplement that the government believes makes unsubstantiated health claims that the product prevents, treats, or cures COVID-19,” the Natural Solutions Foundation wrote in the recall notice.
Customers have 22 days starting Tuesday to request a refund from the Natural Solutions Foundation, which is asking customers to return the product and form to the manufacturer’s mailing address.
Address: 58 Plotts Road, Newton, NJ 07860. A return address is also requested by the Natural Solutions Foundation, who will send refund checks to customers.
