NOTTINGHAM, England (AP) — High-spending Nottingham Forest aren’t done yet this transfer window.
The featured club announced the signing of Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan on Monday, taking the number of players signed since returning to the Premier League to a staggering 18.
Lodi, 24, has played 15 times for Brazil and is set to make the World Cup squad. In three seasons with Atlético, he played 118 matches.
Forest, who are back in England’s top flight for the first time since 1999, have been forced to expand their squad since being promoted because they had many players on loan last season, while many others in the squad were deemed simply not good enough to play in the Premier League.
