CLALLAM CO., Washington. – On Thursday, prisoners and an employee of the Clalam Bay Correctional Center were given the wrong type of vaccine.

Twenty-three inmates and one officer were given Regen Cov instead of a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Regen Cov is a drug used to treat patients with COVID-19.

The Department of Corrections said no one had serious side effects, but the department continues to monitor all participants.

The DOC also initiated a review to determine what led to the confusion.
