MILWAUKI (AP) – Justin Lewis has decided to stay in the NBA Draft instead of returning to the Market in the 2022-23 season.
The 6-foot-7 forward posted a message on social media reading “Thank you Market” on Wednesday, marking the NCAA’s deadline for players who participated in the draft to withdraw from the review and retain the right to attend college.
On April 12, Lewis announced that he was applying for a call-up and hiring an agent, but retained his rights throughout the process. His ad clarifies his plans to stay on the draft rather than play for Market next season.
Lewis received awards from league coaches for the first team and the entire Greater East and was named the conference’s best player last season. He finished third in the Greater East in points (16.8) and fourth in rebounds (7.9), helping Market pass 19-13, losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament to North Carolina, who finished second.
In the 2020/21 season, he scored 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
