Take a look at what’s happening today around majors:

Star of Angels Mike Trout is likely to have a big rooting section at Citizens Bank Park all weekend for the series against the Phillies.

Trout hails from the town of Millville in southern Jersey, about an hour’s drive from Philadelphia. The now 30-year-old and in his 12th Premier League season, the three-time MVP has played just two games in Philly – the last time was in 2014 after a scheduled Los Angeles match in 2020 was canceled due to a pandemic.

This week, Trout spoke at Yankee Stadium about how he enjoys returning to the area where he grew up, whether it’s talking to fans about his favorite Eagles or meeting old friends at a Wawa store.

“It’s a pretty special comeback,” he said.

Trout received a blow to the left arm in the ninth inning on Thursday night and seemed to be in considerable pain but remained in the game. Los Angeles failed to secure a base runner for their eighth game against Jameson Taylon and lost 2-1 when the Yankees completed a two-match bout that resulted in the Angels winning a series of eight games – their longest since 2019.

Bryce Harper and Phyllis, meanwhile, are trying to extend that skid and catch one of them.

The Angels have won 12 consecutive wins in Philadelphia, the longest active winning streak of any major league team against a single opponent and the longest winning streak in interleague history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays have won eight straight games in a series this weekend against Minnesota.

Yusei Kikuchi (2-1, 3.48 ERA) should start in Toronto. Chi Chi Gonzalez is expected to make his season debut for the Twins.

The Blue Jays will see if outfielder George Springer can return to the squad. He missed two games due to an illness unrelated to COVID-19. Toronto, however, included left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu in the list of injured for 15 days due to forearm pain.

Francisco Lindar is expected to return to the New York Mets at Dodger Stadium. On Thursday night, a stellar short stop with a swollen middle finger on his right hand after injuring him, closed the double doors in his hotel room.

After the rebound № 3 “Mets” managed only three shots and for the first time this season were closed – interrupting their winning streak of six games. They lost 2-0 to Tony Gonzolino (6-0) and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first series of four games between the top two teams in the National League.

Lindar has at least one RBI in 10 games in a row, drawing with Hall of Fame member Mike Piazza – the second longest stretch in the team’s history.

Chris Basit (4-2, 3.66 ERA) puts the Mets against Tyler Anderson (6-0, 2.90), who threw 20 zero innings in a row.

Marcus Semen has made two home runs in his last six games after being homeless in his first 43 this season for Texas.

The 31-year-old Semien has signed a seven-year, $ 175 million contract with the Rangers after scoring 45 Homers for Toronto last year, the biggest figure in Premier League history, mostly playing in second base.

Semien beat only 0.194 of 18 RBIs. Last season, he scored 0.265 out of 102 RBIs for the Blue Jays.

Semen, who lost to Tampa Bay on Thursday, and Rangers host Seattle this weekend.

Javier Baez’s “Tigers” short stop in the last two games has been on the bench, and AJ Hinch manager has given the Detroit rookie time for physical and mental recovery.

Baez, who signed a six-year contract for $ 140 million in the offseason, has the lowest average (0.197) since he was a rookie for the Chicago Cubs in 2014. He also has only three home runs and 13 IRBs in 40 games.

The Tigers won seven out of nine after a slow start. They begin a series of three games at Yankee Stadium with right-hander rookie Alvin Rodriguez against New York ace Gerrit Cole (4-1, 3.12 ERA).
