One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 405 in Bothell early Tuesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The driver involved in the collision exited his vehicle and was later hit by a passing motorist, WSP reported.
Police received a report of a car traveling the wrong way before the fatal collision, Washington State Trooper Kelsey Harding said. According to her, this car was hit several times.
All southbound lanes of I-405 are closed at I-5 while police investigate, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The I-405 southbound exit from both directions of I-5 and Highway 525 off-ramp to southbound I-405 is also closed.
Police are diverting traffic on southbound I-5.
Drivers should use alternate routes and expect long delays, according to WSDOT.
There is no estimated time for reopening.
