The Washington High School softball team will play West Stanly at the 2A State Championships on Friday and Saturday at Anderson Softball Stadium in Chapel Hill.
Game 1 of two of the three final series will take place at 7pm on Friday, and Game 2 – at noon on Saturday. The final game will take place on Saturday at 3pm if needed.
Pam Peck (27-0) won the Eastern Championship for the first time in school history, beating former Conference rival South Lenoir in two games, while the Colts (27-4) bypassed the West Stokes, 5-3 and 13-3 to win the crown of the West.
West Stanley has won the 2A title in the past and in 2019. The 2020 season was not due to COVID-19.
