The Beaufort County Animal Shelter is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturdays. The shelter will be closed if an appointment is not made by 5pm on Friday. Animal control staff are at the shelter until 8 a.m. daily. Shelter staff will not be answering phone calls in the morning because all staff are involved in morning operations. The shelter strongly recommends leaving a voicemail with contact information and getting back to callers as soon as possible. In the event of an emergency, contact the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office to call an animal control officer. The shelter is located at 3931 US Highway 264 East in Washington.

The shelter will be closed to the public for cleaning every first Wednesday of the month. Please visit https://www.petango.com/beaufortcountync to view all pets available for adoption. Dog, Old, ID #0200

Described as a friendly and goofy guy, this 4-year-old Hound mix loves to follow his nose wherever he goes! The old man is friendly to people and is believed to be friendly to dogs as well. He will do best with love, attention, exercise and play – preferably in a fenced yard and included in activities. Handsome, old man ID 0200 would like a forever home to call his own. Meet him, he is in the shelter.

Cat, Danny 0173

She is already spayed and can go with a discounted rate! However, Dani is such a love bug that she prefers to be the only kitten in the house. Between the ages of 4 years and 10 months, she is a beautiful American Shorthair with striking gray, black, tan and cream stripes. With her affectionate personality, Dani, ID 0173, will be a welcome addition to a good forever home. She is waiting for you in the Shelter.
