SPOKAN, Washington – A new athletics event will be held in Spokane this weekend.
ParaSport Spokane is hosting the first-ever “Pine Cone Track & Field Classic” – welcoming athletes with and without disabilities to participate in races and field competitions together.
The event is a U.S.-sanctioned athletics event.
This Sunday, June 5, there will be a classic Pine Cone competition, which will feature Paralympic athletes at Ridgeline High School.
ParaSport Spokane says it’s for all athletes – from beginners to professionals.
There will be a meter race, as well as competitions in long jump, discus and shot put.
It is also not necessary to be a parachutist for competitions.
If you want to take part, the registration deadline is Friday, June 3, until 8 p.m.
