Henry Ashley was a 24-year-old father who was planning to take a new home with his wife, she told news agencies.
But the Georgian guard life ended when he was shot dead in the workplace last month, according to the DeCalb County Police Department.
“I hope they got what they wanted by taking a husband, a son, a father, a brother, so young,” Ashley’s wife Kyle Rustan told WSB-TV. “We were planning to buy a house this summer. It was our first time we were able to do this and all was torn off in a matter of moments. “
Officials now say they have arrested a suspect in the Atlanta murder case. The 16-year-old, who was not featured in the March 3 news release, was accused of murder and hacking.
Four more suspects are also wanted in the shooting, which was reported in Stonecrest around 11pm on 19 February. Ashley worked in the showroom at Mall Parkway, when officials said he was “investigating a suspicious alert” and contacted five people, police and WXIA reported.
“Moments after the meeting, Mr. Ashley was shot dead while he was in his marked work car,” officials said. “Sir. Ashley was taken to a local hospital where he later died.”
Ashley leaves behind a wife and 4-year-old son, according to his obituary and news agencies.
The teenager was among several people caught on surveillance camera recordings, according to officials. It is reported that the suspects left the salon in a gray car.
While police continue to search for clues, Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of $ 10,000 for information leading to the arrests. Anyone with tips is encouraged to call staff at 770-724-7850 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
“I want to thank the community for their help in this investigation,” said Mirta Ramos, DeCalb County Police Chief, in a press release. “This arrest is another example of what happens when the community and the police work together.”
