A 62-year-old resident of Upper Marlborough, Maryland, was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for a series of armed robberies last year in the District of Columbia.

Jon Karl Mccree Fleet pleaded guilty to the deal back in October. He was charged with robbing Macy’s in Springfield, Virginia; McDonald’s in Alexandria, Virginia; a subway in Largo, Maryland; Papa John’s in Falls Church, Virginia; and Domino’s in McLean, Virginia, between January 24, 2021 and March 13, 2021.

Authorities said Fleet brandished a firearm during each robbery and demanded money from staff. He was banned from owning a weapon because he had already been convicted of a crime.

“Fleet’s long and brutal criminal history qualifies him as a career criminal,” the Justice Department said in a statement on Tuesday.
