FLOWER BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons’ depth at left guard took another hit Tuesday when Matt Hennessy was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Hennessy started Sunday’s 20-17 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers as a replacement for Elijah Wilkinson, who was placed on IR last week with a knee injury. Another left guard, Jalen Mayfield, is already on VK.
Hennessy, Temple’s third-round pick in the 2020 draft, started two games at center as a rookie.
Colby Gossett played for Hennessey against the Chargers and could start Thursday night’s game in Carolina.
The Falcons also signed safety Giovante Moffat to the 53-man practice squad roster. Moffat played the last two games on special teams as a practice squad regular.
Outside linebacker Quinton Bell and forward Jonathan Harrison were signed to the practice squad. Cornerback BoPete Keys was released from the practice squad.
