The heat will return to Tacoma, Olympia, forecasters say

Forecasters say Tacoma and the surrounding area are in for another bout of hot weather this week.

The temperature in the city of Tacoma Highs are expected to rise into the mid to upper 80s on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the hottest days with temperatures around 90 degrees and the warmest nights with temperatures around 60 degrees. The temperature in Olympia temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s tuesday through thursday and near 90 degrees on wednesday.

The office said overnight lows are now expected to be cool enough to allow some relief during the overnight hours.

The risk of heat from Tuesday through Thursday is a moderate risk of heat-related illness for those who are sensitive to heat, especially those who do not have effective cooling or adequate hydration.

Earlier this month, the more so Temperatures neared the triple digits in the Puget Sound region.

According to the NWS, Saturday will likely be the coolest day of the week with gradual warming on Sunday and Monday. Temperatures should return to normal for much of Western Washington by Friday and Saturday.
