Veterans Day is Friday, November 11, and as we celebrate and honor those who have given so much to the United States, the Library of Congress invites veterans to record their stories and tell others about real events and emotions during their lives. maintenance.
US Library of Congress Veterans History Project collects first-hand stories, documents and information from US military veterans.
Participants can submit recorded interviews, manuscripts, photographs, and documents from their service by mail or by personally delivering the materials to the US Library of Congress.
According to the project’s website, it could be at least a year before a veteran’s record is available online. When the Veterans Collection is processed, it will also be available in person at the US Library of Congress. American Folklore Center Reading Room by appointment only.
Veterans Collections are open to the public online for free.
