US Library of Congress Veterans History Project collects first-hand stories, documents and information from US military veterans.
Participants can submit recorded interviews, manuscripts, photographs, and documents from their service by mail or by personally delivering the materials to the US Library of Congress.
According to the project’s website, it could be at least a year before a veteran’s record is available online. When the Veterans Collection is processed, it will also be available in person at the US Library of Congress. American Folklore Center Reading Room by appointment only.
