The Washington Post hires Ashbrener to be the editor of Congress

Anna Ashbrenner will be to join The Washington Post as editor of Congress to manage the Capitol Hill lighting. It will begin on June 6.

Anna joins USA Today, where she oversaw the White House, Congress and national policy coverage. There she also served as editor of the 2020 elections. She previously worked for the Des Moines Registry, where she worked as a news editor, political content strategist and news director.

She began her career as a news clerk at the Muskegon Chronicle in Michigan.

Ashbrenner graduated from the University of Michigan and was named one of 25 editors and publishers under the age of 35 in 2017.
