“This is great support”: Cedar Coffee raises almost 10 thousand dollars to raise funds for Ukraine

SPOKAN, Washington – The Spokane community stepped up on Saturday to help those suffering in Ukraine.

All day at the door at Cedar Coffee there was a queue, many waiting to get coffee and pastries.

The owner Igor York comes from Ukraine and wanted to donate all his income to help the people of his country.

Daniel Mazaev stood in a long line to support the Ukrainians.

“I am from Russia, so I know what competitions are going on there. It’s getting bad. So doing at least something, even so little, can mean a lot to them in the end. We are just happy to be here, ”he said.

Along with bakery products and coffee, people came in to give York cash, as they tried to do everything they could to help.

Although York was not available for comment, his preliminary estimate is that they raised nearly $ 10,000.

“This is a great support,” Mazaev said, looking at the long queue.
