Virginia’s Miami technical equipment, which completes the women’s race in the ACC rankings

Take a look at next week’s Atlantic Coast conference:

WEEKEND GAME

Technical Virginia in Miami. Hurricanes (20-8, 12-5) chase the top four in the ACC tournament and the two-round farewell that goes along with it, and continue to maintain their position for the NCAA tournament. The Hokies (17-11, 9-8) face uphill to reach that goal, although they won seven out of eight after starting the 2-7 league.

LOOK FORWARD

North Carolina (20-8, 12-5) faces a quick turnaround from Saturday’s trip to North Carolina’s competition, taking on Syracuse in its home final on Monday. Tar Heels are two games ahead of Wake Forest and Virginia in the final four of the first seeded in the ACC tournament, although they are still trying to back up the uncertain summary of the NCAA tournament.

PLAYER TO WATCH

This year’s results in the selection and double-doubles of Armando Bacot of North Carolina are some of the best in the program’s history. Becot has 21 double-doubles, two behind the program record of Bryce Johnson set in 2015-16. Becott also has a chance to equal Johnson’s score in the number of games at least 10 rebounds per season on Saturday. Bakot is ranked third in the national relegation rankings (12.3) and second in the double-doubles in Thursday’s games.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Notre Dame (12-1 at home) is the only team in the league that has avoided multiple home defeats this season. … Leading the league Duke has not won the ACC regular season title since the 2009-10 season, as a result of which the Blue Devils also won the ACC tournament as well as Mike Krzyzewski’s fourth NCAA title. Since then, they have won three ACC tournament titles. … The Blue Devils ’65-61 victory in Virginia on Wednesday marks the seventh time in nine meetings that the gap was four or fewer points. … Boston College’s win over NC on Wednesday was his second win in February. The Eagles host Clemson on Saturday with a chance to win at least three February games for only the fourth time in nine seasons. … Thurquavial Smith of NC State scored four three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Warrior, his high 83 3rd breaking the program’s record for freshmen in one season. … Syracuse keeper Joseph Girard III ranks 12th in the country, scoring 89.7% on the foul line (70 to 78). He set a Jerry McNamara record for one season in the 90.9% program in 2002-03 (90 out of 99).

ON THE SIDE OF WOMEN

This is the last week of the regular season race, where № 3 North Carolina already ranks No. 1 in the ACC tournament, and at least shares the program’s first title in the regular season from 1989-90.

The drama now focuses on which other teams will qualify for the top four sows and a farewell twice.

Louisville, who finished fourth in the rankings, won 2 seed, winning Thursday in Pittsburgh, leaving Notre Dame № 14, № 18 in North Carolina and № 23 Virginia Tech, battling for two other places.

Fighting Irish (21-6, 13-4) and Hokies (21-7, 13-4) can win Sunday’s final, though in both tough matches. Notre Dame visits Louisville, while Virginia Tech hosts NC, and UNC (22-5, 12-5) hosts rival Duke.
