SPOKANE, Washington. – Starting Tuesday, when you head to an event in Washington, you will be able to leave a vaccination card at home – in most cases.

Gov. Jay Insley has announced that March 1 will lift the state’s requirement to test for vaccines or a negative COVID test for major events. However, this does not mean that businesses and local authorities cannot meet their own requirements.

The waiver of vaccine confirmation requirements comes just 10 days before the state cancels the mask mandate.

Governor Insley said the state was able to move into the “restrictive phase of responding to COVID-19” due to reduced hospitalizations, increased vaccination rates and greater access to masks and testing.

Initially, the mandate of the indoor mask was revoked on March 21. Governor Insley postponed that date to 11:59 p.m., March 11th. They will still be needed in some settings such as health care, correctional facilities and long-term care facilities.

“We have continued to monitor data from our state Department of Health and have determined that we can adjust the timing of masked requirements for the entire state,” Insley said. “While this is another step forward for Washington, we still need to remember that many in our communities remain vulnerable. Many businesses and families will continue to wear masks because we learned how effective they are in each other’s safety. As we move on to the next stage, we will continue to move forward together cautiously and cautiously. ”

Next week, K-12 schools will receive new guidelines so they can prepare to change or update any security protocols.

Vaccination confirmation or negative test began to demand at all major events in Washington on November 15, 2021.
