OLYMPIA, WASHINGTON. Washington lawmakers voted late Friday night to ban the sale of high-capacity magazines in the state.

Senate Bill 5078 prohibits the sale, attempted sale, manufacture and distribution of stores with ammunition more than 10 rounds.

The bill does not outlaw the possession of large capacity magazines. Washington will join nine states that already restrict high-capacity magazines.

He will now head to Governor Jay Insley’s desk to sign the law.

The ban on high-capacity magazines has been imposed several times by the Washington legislature and has repeatedly prevented progress.

The law was asked by Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
