William “Nott” Holmes Lilley Jr

William “Knott” Holmes Lilley Jr., 67, of Greenville, N.C., died November 2, 2022, at ECU Health in Greenville, N.C.
An informal visitation and celebration of life for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Rosie Lilly Smith Home, 601 Shorewood Drive, Washington, NC.
Knott was born July 24, 1955 to the late William Holmes Lilley Sr. and Lila Gray Everett. Knott attended Bath schools and graduated from Washington High School. He was baptized as a child in the Athens Chapel church. Nott was a handyman and worked in the construction industry. He was handsome and talented, so he was always busy and an avid gardener.
He married Rosie Poor Lily Smith and they have two children. Nott is survived by two children: a son: William Holmes Lilly III (Karen Lilly) and their two children: William Holmes Lilly IV and Beckham Juliana Lilly and a daughter: Caroline Lilly and her daughter Izzy Smith, two sisters: Linda Swanner (Mike Swanner) of Bath, North Carolina; Lila Ruth Everett (Gilbert Everett of Bath, NC and his nieces and nephews: Michael Swaner, Joey Swaner, Laura Respes, Rumley Everett and William Everett.

Knott was dearly loved by his children and family. Nott’s children were his deepest love. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
