Flavery Brunch, Georgia (AP) – The Atlanta Falcons have signed wide-back receiver Cameron Betson, who is coming to the team with ties to coach Arthur Smith and defender Marcus Marriott.

The 26-year-old Batson has made 22 catches for 197 yards with two touchdowns in three seasons from Tennessee, including two with Smith as a tight end coach and offensive coordinator. Betson started three games.

The Falcons announced the signing on Thursday.

Betson’s first catch in 2018 took place at the Mariota Pass, which is preparing for its first season with Atlanta.

Last season Betson suffered a right knee injury at the end of the season when in four games he had only two catches for 15 yards, including one for a touchdown. He could also compete for a place as a return specialist after 16 opening games with Tennessee.

Betson joins the long list of newcomers to Atlanta, starting with Drake London’s draft in the first round, as well as among other veterans Brian Edwards, Auden Tate, Damier Byrd and Hadarel Hodge.

The “Falcons” released the offensive lineman Rashaad the Rabbit.
