What we track
We are anticipating extremely difficult conditions for our mountain passes on Saturday night and Sunday, so we have deemed it an ADVENTURE DAY. That’s going to be a major headache on what promises to be a busy post-Thanksgiving Sunday on our roads.
At least The passes through the Cascades are expected to get 8 inches of snow, though that could be significantly above. The Idaho passes will see lower numbers, but it will still be a winter ride from Western Montana to Coeur d’Alene. Lookout Pass will still get hit hard with 6 to 10 inches of snow.
Most of the snow will fall on Sunday morning, so traveling during this time period is a don’t go in any direction.
Plan your Sunday
We will have better Sunday mornings than this one. Light snow and gusty winds of up to 40 miles per hour will make travel in the valleys and lowlands unpleasant until lunchtime. Snow accumulation will be fairly light, with most areas getting around an inch. The air temperature during the day will be around 30 degrees.
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
It will be a cold start to the week with temperatures in the low 20s on Monday and dropping into the single digits on Tuesday morning. More snow is expected on Wednesday, with snow likely next weekend. Autumn weather will not return. Winter is here to stay.
