What we track
We’re tracking some travel hazards between now and the end of Thanksgiving. Thick fog awaits drivers on Friday morning. On Friday night, light rain will change to snow in some places. On Friday, there will be snow in some places in the area of mountain passes. Finally, we are tracking a strong winter storm overnight Saturday into Sunday. Expect significant impacts during the vacation, especially over mountain passes in the Cascades and Idaho Panhandle. Moderate to heavy snow is possible Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Friday will start with areas of dense fog. If you’re going to be up extra early to shop on Black Friday, expect heavy fog and some icy fog on the roads. A storm system will arrive in the late afternoon. Precipitation will start as rain in the valleys, but could change to snow or rain before drying out late Friday night. Up to 1 inch of snow is possible
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
Sunday’s storm will punish the mountain passes. The Spokane and Coeur d’Alene area is expecting sleet or light snow. It will be a windy day with gusts between 35 and 45 mph. Colder and drier air will move in at the start of the work week, with snow expected to return on Wednesday.
