MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Ja Morant had 28 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 114-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

Desmond Bain had 24 points and five assists for Memphis, while Dylan Brooks had 21. Brandon Clark added 15 points and made all six of his shots as the Grizzlies won their fifth of six.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Jayden McDaniels scored 15 points and Rudy Gober also had 15 points, hitting all five of his shots. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

It was the first game between the two teams since last season’s tight first-round playoff series, which the Grizzlies won in six games.

The Timberwolves added Gobert to the front line with Towns. The duo and and Minnesota have struggled of late, losing six of seven.

In the first half, “Memphis” managed to increase the number to double digits.

The Grizzlies shot 56% in the first half, but struggled from beyond the arc. Minnesota had foul trouble on the front line. Towns had four fouls and three before halftime.

Bain scored 13 in the fourth quarter as Memphis extended its lead.
