A driver was desperate for gas after being robbed — and then there was an “act of kindness” from a Georgia police officer.

The woman was on her way to work when she stopped at the gas station. But her prepaid card was declined, leaving her “disappointed” and facing the prospect of a rainy walk, according to the McDonough Police Department.

“She was out of fuel, out of money and on her way to work,” police wrote in a Facebook post on Nov. 10. “She would have to leave the car and walk to work in the rain.”

But then the officer noticed the driver’s struggle and rushed to help. After listening to her situation, he decided to pay her for the gas.

It turns out the driver allegedly “lost all her credit cards and money” during the robbery and had no other option to fill up the tank. The officer’s gesture caught the attention of social media users, including dozens praised his actions.

“Thank you for your service and it’s great an act of kindness“, one person commented on the message of the Police Department on Facebook.

Another person wrote that there were “the good man is on the left There.”

McDonough is about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta.
