Shooting at the ranch: 1 person died, 6 were injured: NK deputies

A 24-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a bonfire party in North Carolina, news outlets reported.

Another five were shotand a sixth person was injured while trying to escape around 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded after multiple 911 callers reported a shooting at Double D Ranch. The property has near Enfieldabout 70 miles northeast of Raleigh.

People gathered at the ranch for a bonfire party advertised on social media. A flier circulating online read “no drama, no guns,” according to a graphic the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook.

Deputies were told that hundreds of people attended the event, and the organizers said they would provide security. But during the party, according to officials, there was an argument before the shots rang outreports rrspin.com.

One person was found dead at the scene of the shooting. This person has been identified as a 24-year-old Sierra Webb Roanoke Rapidsaccording to WNCN and ABC11, a media partner of The News & Observer.

A person who was injured while trying to leave the scene of the shooting was treated. Of the five other injured people, “four are in stable condition, and one was airlifted to an emergency room,” officials wrote on Facebook.

One of the victims is 16 years old, the sheriff’s office told news outlets.
