DALTON GARDENS, ID. — The Kootenay County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect in a California homicide in a Dalton Gardens traffic stop.
KCSO reports that on Nov. 20 at approximately 4:15 p.m., a KCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of 4th Street and Canfield Avenue.
Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old Richie W. Michelson. Michelson has an address in Coeur d’Alene and has a pending extradition warrant out of California on a murder charge.
Michelson was arrested on a probation violation warrant out of California along with a US Marshall warrant without incident.
Michelson was booked into the Kootenay County Jail pending extradition to California. Police say he has no other criminal history in Kootenay County.
