Richard Wesley Murray Jr., 63, of Washington, NC, died Monday, November 21, 2022, at ECU Health Beaufort.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory with Joey Brickhouse officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Barber, Tex Melton, Victor Van Nortwick, James H. Rasberry, RC Cole and Garrett Potter.

Mr. Murray was born May 15, 1959 in Providence, Rhode Island to Richard Wesley Murray Sr. and Jeanette Dunlow Murray. He was a graduate of Williamston High School. Served in the Navy as a data display technician. He was employed as a stationary engineer at Thermo Fisher in Greenville. On December 31, 1993, he married the former Kim Alligood, who survives. Mr. Murray was a man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed scuba diving and was a member of the ski club. He attended the Macedonian Christian Church and the First Christian Church.

Mr. Murray is survived by his wife, Kim of the home; his father, Richard Wesley Murray, Sr. of Williamston; three sisters, Annette Murray and Judy M. Rose, both of Williamston, and Robin Harrison and husband Ricky of Bear Grass; sister-in-law, Rita A. Fulghum; niece, Christa Potter and husband Allen; three nephews, Bryce Harrison and wife Brittany, Conner Harrison and special friend Hannah Pippin, all of Williamston and Richie Fulgham and wife Jamie; great-nephews and nieces, Brooks Harrison, Bristol Harrison, Kevin Fulghum, James Fulghum, Reagan Fulghum and Garrett Potter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Dunlow Murray.
