Gina, a 22-year-old Chihuahua mix, is officially the oldest dog in the world.

A savior named Gina officially appears the oldest living dog in the worldand he lives in luxury in California.

On November 15, the Guinness Book of Records declared him the oldest living dog. He is 22 years and 52 days old to be exact.

That’s it more than 100 years in “human years,” according to Pets WebMD.

Alex Wolf, Gene’s owner, adopted him in Boulder, Colorado in 2002.

“I’ve taken a lot of care of him over the years and he’s still in relatively good shape,” Wolff told the Guinness Book of World Records, adding that Gino “is still very sweet, which is surprising given his age!”

He is half Chihuahua and half American Eskimo, and for two decades he has always “had different air about him,” the Daily Breeze reports.

“He’s always been a pretty wise dog,” Wolff told the paper. “He’s really more of a man than a dog. I mean, just look at that attitude, that face.’

Wolff was a sophomore in college when he decided get a dog with their roommates. Wolff eventually took charge of him and brought him home to Southern California, KABC reported.

“We take him on wagon rides around the neighborhood, we go back and forth in the car,” Wolff told the station. “When we have a fireplace, we put his bed in front of the fireplace. It’s a luxurious life.”

The previous oldest dog in the world was Pebbles, a terrier from South Carolina who just happened to be five months is not enough her 23rd birthday when she died on October 3rd.
